A Good Kick!

Honestly. . . it's what I've needed.  Since I graduated from high school, (like decades ago!) my Bible memorization has been pathetic.  I've made resolutions, started a plan, worked a little here and there, but eventually petered out with little progress.  The last couple of days on Revive Our Hearts, the guest has really been giving me what I needed - the ol' boot!  Usually I'd be feeling guilty and discouraged about now, but this time, not so!  Encouraged and inspired is more like it. So, here's some inspiration, or rather, a good swift kick!

Good Morning!

Hello, out there!  It's is so not winter here any more in Wisconsin.  In fact, spring is in full bloom.  I was recently in Texas for a week and upon my arrive back home, I found everything had turned green, flowers had bloomed and the trees were way past the budding stage.  Oh, how wonderful!  I'll post pictures . . . eventually.
My sewing closet is filling up again with another season of bridal gowns.  Admittedly, when the weather is this beautiful, it's a challenge to stay inside.  But thoughts of all those anxious brides helps to keep me on track.  :)
The seeds that were hurriedly started last week for the garden are already coming up. Every year I amazed that "it worked"!  Simple explanation - God did it!
My spring to-do list keeps growing. . . . washing windows, spring house cleaning, painting a couple of rooms, yard work, gardening, new curtains, etc.  So much to do - so little time.  No wonder this housewife has a confused look on her face when people ask what she does all day.  Really?  Are you kidding me?

It's A Marshmallow World in the Winter

I'm liking winter this year!  I think some of this is due to the fact that I've gotten a few chances to actually "play" in and with the snow and ice.  While chaperoning for a church youth retreat last month and I got to cross country ski, play broom ball, did some snow tubing and even ice skated - this last was a first for me.  Such fun and only one bruise!   The beautiful frosty trees today, prompted the following wintery viewings.

God was icing  the trees while we slept.

(gasp!)  Mr. Beaver was here!

Bet it's pretty in summer, too.

(only here for proof)

(can you feel the rush?)

. . . . and the perfect ending. :)

Year in Pictures - #3

We had a great Christmas, surrounded by family, friends, and, of course, food.
The Lord has been gracious this year beyond words, as always.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."

I love spritz cookies. . . . well, maybe too much.

A little instrumental caroling. . . pretty good, huh?!

Our first Christmas tree!

The boys givin' some love to our Texan sister!

Yay, we got to meet Mr. E!  Such a cute couple!

My sweet, sweet sisters.

Why do we say, "a clean coat of paint?

Well, I thing it looks cleaner, don't you?
(Scratch one more thing off the list.)
